The Art of Delegation

with Cynthia Knapek, President, Leadership Louisville Center

While certainly everyone has felt the effects of stress during the pandemic, managers were hit hardest. According to Gallup research, managers are 27% more likely than individual contributors to strongly agree they felt a lot of stress during their most recent workday. Preventing burnout is a major concern – but one high-yield solution for prioritizing workloads and restoring energy is often the one managers are simply bad at: delegation.

The problem is the very skills that got people promoted into management (the skills that make someone a producer/ achiever) are not the same skills needed to be a people developer. What’s worse: those achiever skills are likely the thing making you a bad delegator. In this free, one-hour virtual session, Cynthia Knapek will deconstruct our relationship with delegation so you can self-diagnose where old habits are standing in your way. She’ll also cover replacement behaviors, enabling you to be a dynamic delegator.

This microlearning course can stand alone, but is a sample of our full-day workshop Developing the Leader Within You (based on the best-selling book by John Maxwell) coming up October 6, 2022.
