Course Agenda Highlights
Because experiential learning in small groups is the most effective way to bring about real change, the program is designed to accommodate up to 8 participants with one facilitator. This provides extensive practice, rehearsal, and coaching all aimed at achieving the outcomes and objectives mentioned above.
The following modules will be included in the agenda:
- Introduction to Leadership Presence Skills with the PRES Model: Present, Reaching Out, Expressive, Self-Knowing
- Expanding Communication Style through Expressiveness:
Participants learn how to achieve greater impact by exploring a wider and more adept use of vocal and physical flexibility, spontaneity, passion, energy and empathy.
- Leveraging Storytelling for Business Communication: Participants identify and incorporate personal stories into business communications to present and connect in a more compelling way, practicing different scenarios that require physical and vocal variety to get key messages across. After rehearsing in pairs, participants present a story to the full group and receive facilitator feedback.
- Application and Action Planning: Participants create an action plan of how they can use stories in their work.

The Ariel Group’s Technique
The Ariel Group employs theater-based, experiential techniques, combined with practice and personal coaching. Some of the workshop’s activities include:
- Exercises that emphasize agility, making personal connections and recognizing personal communication styles
- Techniques to develop skills for supportive, engaged listening
- Storytelling exercises to teach skills for capturing attention, delivering memorable messages and projecting authenticity
In addition to the 1-day experience, participants will receive pre-workshop questions and reading, and a personal action plan to help build a learning system. This integrated approach helps to enhance and sustain the learning so that the program is not just a one-off experience, but begins to build a community of learning and practice.
Josh Broder has more than 20 years of experience teaching, coaching, and consulting in the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors. He draws on his skills in theater, and as a journalist and business writer when coaching. His coaching work is about people interacting with people — in other words, the content and delivery of messages. In both workshops and one-on-one settings, Josh enjoys creating an environment where leaders can safely explore their learning edges, and expand their capacity to build relationships that get results. Josh has led numerous successful workshops for clients in a variety of industries.
His industry specialties include financial and professional services, higher education, manufacturing, and technology. His clients include: Conde Nast, Dolby, Johnson & Johnson, JP Morgan, Procter & Gamble, Prudential, Darden School of Business, Harvard University, and Columbia University.
Victor Barbella brings his diverse background and experience, in both education and acting, to life in his work as an executive coach and consultant. He has over 15 years of experience in learning and development as a public school teacher, instructional designer, teaching artist and coach. He works with numerous Fortune 500 leaders in the US and Europe, developing their expressive communication, leadership style, management, and relationship-building skills. Victor has a wide array of passions, from speaking to groups, leading large group sessions, graphic scribing, and one-on-one coaching. He is also a published writer.
Victor specializes in several areas of expertise, such as improvisation, presentation coaching, keynote speaking, graphic facilitation, and instructional design. His lists of clients include: Hearst, Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, TEDx, Thomson Reuters, and Citi.
Continuing Education Units (CEU)
At the conclusion of Green Room courses, the Leadership Louisville Center will provide the following documentation for CEU credit purposes:
Date, record of individual attendance, course title and description, workshop/event agenda, facilitator bios, course hours, and educator signature.
Approval is at the discretion of specific licensing boards or agencies.
Certification Credits for HR Professionals
The HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) has pre-approved this workshop for re-certification credit hours (exact number of credit hours TBA). The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for CPAs
Leadership Green Room workshops can provide professional development for individuals licensed to practice as a certified public accountants. Our course completion certificate and materials provide the documentation required by the Kentucky Board of Accountancy for CPE credits. The state board of accountancy has the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
