Every woman needs a network of strong women in their lives to grow their confidence, courage, and connections.
This is true in a “normal” year, but even more so while we’re struggling to lead our teams and families through difficult times. Every woman has been pushed to be even stronger. The 100 Wise Women networking series creates space for that strength and leadership to be acknowledged and celebrated – in ourselves, and the incredible keynote speakers that share their struggles and stories. While anchored in Louisville, a virtual format allows us to expand these stories to women everywhere.
About our Keynote Speaker
Cathy Zion launched phase two of her professional journey 25 years ago when she acquired Today’s Woman magazine and eventually grew the media operation to become Today’s Media which now publishes Today’s Transitions magazine. As she eases into retirement, Cathy will be the featured keynote speaker for the June 23rd 100 Wise Women event, reflecting on her early professional career in banking, where she rose to Vice President of the Operations Division for Fifth Third Bank/Kentucky, and later career as an entrepreneur and business owner.
Cathy was the co-founder of the Leadership Louisville Center’s 100 Wise Women event series along with Chris Johnson, former president of the Center. She has served and led numerous boards of community organizations, is a member of the BB&T Louisville Region Board of Directors, was a past President of the Louisville Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and is a long-time member of River City Business and Professional Women (BPW), having served as its Charter President.
She has numerous awards from these and many other organizations including Gritt and Grace Award in 2020 from the American Lung Association; induction into the Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame in 2015; Woman of Distinction award by the Center for Women in Families in 2008; and many, many others. Cathy is a graduate of Murray State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business and Journalism and her Master of Communications. She was Editor of the Cadiz (Ky.) Record and Assistant Advertising Director of Newspapers, Inc. (aka Landmark Community Newspapers), prior to embarking on her career in banking.
You need a network of strong women at your (virtual or literal) table – and we’d love for YOU to be at ours.
