2021 LEADERSHIP LOUISVILLE LUNCHEON
Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center
3029 W Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40212
On what was once an uninhabitable brownfield now sits the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center – filling a void in the local, regional, national, and international track and field community. At the heart of its development was the desire to spur economic and community growth for black businesses and families, igniting a culture of change that passes asset and wealth building down to future generations.
“We just built hope into a building,” Sadiqa Reynolds, president of the Louisville Urban League and the driving force behind the $53 million superstructure, said Friday as the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference’s championship meet roared out on the 200-meter indoor track. “This building stands for hope.”
This state of the art facility sits on the Louisville Urban League Sports & Learning Campus – a 24-acre, multi-sport complex located in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood that opened in February 2021. The campus hosts local, regional and national indoor and outdoor track meets, other sporting events, concerts and a variety of other events. Featuring 90,000 square feet of floor space with a 4,100 seat, 200-meter banked Mondo indoor track and the 400-meter Humana Outdoor Track & Field Stadium, the venue attracts athletes and guests from across the nation and bring a large economic impact to the region. Additionally, the complex includes a 4-lane mini-bowling alley, an interactive rock-climbing wall and a multi-purpose space that is used for educational programming for the Louisville community.
We are honored to be among the first organizations utilizing this venue as an event space – and feel it’s the perfect place for the time we’re in, allowing for safe and healthy engagement for our attendees. Read more about safety precautions being taken at this event.
