Leadership Louisville is a 10-month experience that for over 40 years, has been part of the fabric of our community. The program is transformational for both participants and the organizations they lead. Participants become armed with a broad understanding of our region’s most pressing issues and the ability to activate an influential network.
The Leadership Louisville program year begins with a mandatory overnight opening retreat in August and concludes with graduation in May. During the program year, the class meets one day per month at varying locations in the Louisville community. Through exclusive tours and hands-on experiences, participants fully explore and learn more about local government, education, economic development, and the arts. Participants see it all through the eyes of experienced area leaders who deal every day with our community’s biggest challenges. Armed with new knowledge, connections, and perspectives, our participants are prepared to take their places as effective community leaders.
Through the ten-month experience, the competitively selected class of our community’s top leaders gain a true understanding of the people and issues shaping Louisville’s future. More importantly, they see how they can impact those issues. The connections made with classmates and the interaction with top community leaders adds value to this program well before and beyond graduation.
Organizations benefit in many ways:
- Your company leaders gain an outside perspective, learn from other industries, and make connections to innovate the way you do business.
- Participants better understand and take responsibility for the broader community, providing new opportunities for your organization to deal firsthand with vital local issues.
- More informed, connected, and empowered leaders give companies more influence and ability to impact the greater good.
