The program day with Ignite Louisville at YUM! was probably one of the best days so far. Maria Paris taught us how YUM! works to achieve breakthrough results using intention, thinking and action.  Seems like a simple concept, but the execution is what is important.  I mean, how many times in your career have you known the answer and still got things wrong?  This program day especially helped me rethink how I work within my own business and in the community work I do.  I sometimes wonder if I am going as far as I can, doing as much as I can.  By always thinking about what can be, instead of focusing on what is, I feel I have the freedom to dream and think and be so much bigger than I ever have before.

I also gained confirmation from Mark Lagestee, Yum! Brands VP of Human Resources, as he made me realize that focusing on my values and not allowing them to be compromised, is the most important message for my career.

Lastly, the story Laura Barnum told to my team before she spoke made me understand that I can do all the amazing things in the world, but I still need to be humble enough to just be another person in the gym.  Thank you YUM! and Leadership Louisville for this experience.  “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but people will never forget how you made them feel.”- Maya Angelou
