100 Wise Women on Sept. 16 to feature founder of Hope Scarves, Lara MacGregor

Lara MacGregor, founder of Hope Scarves, is keynote speaker at the next 100 Wise Women breakfast on September 16.

Louisville, Kentucky (Sept. 1, 2015) – The next 100 Wise Women event in 2015 on Wednesday, September 16, will feature keynote speaker Lara MacGregor, founder of Hope Scarves. A cancer survivor herself, Lara decided to turn her difficult experience into something positive, and created an international non-profit organization that shares scarves, stories and hope with women facing cancer.  Attendees will hear a powerful and inspiring story from a woman leader followed by facilitated conversation with the “wise women” table hosts.

WHAT:     Together with presenting sponsor EY, the Leadership Louisville Center and Today’s Woman magazine host 100 Wise Women to bring successful women leaders – Wise Women – together with emerging women leaders to share perspectives on themes presented by distinguished keynote speakers.  Designed to increase the base of Louisville’s qualified, connected women leaders, over 785 women representing 447 companies attended the forums in 2014 and every event has sold to capacity since the series started in 2007.

WHEN:     Wednesday, September 16, from 8 – 10 a.m.

  • 8:00 a.m. – Networking
  • 8:30 a.m. – Introductions and keynote address
  • 9:15 – 10 a.m. – Table discussion and pearls of wisdom overview

Proceeds from 100 Wise Women go to the Joan Riehm Women’s Leadership Fund, created to allow women to participate in Leadership Louisville Center programs.  Since the scholarship fund was created in 2007, 104 women have received scholarships totaling more than $98,000.
