100 Wise Women events & keynote speakers announced for 2021 – First event will be April 7th featuring Dr. Ashley Anderson
Together with presenting sponsor Chase, the Leadership Louisville Center hosts 100 Wise Women events to bring successful women leaders – Wise Women – together with emerging women leaders to make space for strength and leadership to be acknowledged and celebrated. The events make it possible for women to build a network that will grow their confidence, courage, and connections.
The 2021 event series will continue the successful virtual format until conditions are suitable for in-person gatherings. Both virtual and in-person events include an inspirational leadership story from a keynote speaker and small group discussions facilitated by Wise Women hosts.
The first event on April 7 will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Ashley Anderson, co-owner of Athena Health and Wellness, a women’s health practice that is the first of its kind in Louisville. She is a women’s health nurse practitioner and oversees the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Organization, but throughout her life, her ‘titles’ have also included: founding partner of fashion boutique AFMThreads, record holding captain for Berea College’s women’s basketball team, international runway model, actress, radio personality, and pageant competitor. Attendees will learn from the creativity and resilience of this “Wise Woman,” who is also the wife of NCAA and NBA champion Derek L. Anderson, Sr., and mom of two sons, Atlas and Ace.
Additional speakers for the 2021 series include a magazine publisher who was co-founder of the 100 Wise Women event series; nonprofit leader who served as interim chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department; and a c-suite leader of Brown-Forman Corporation.
