Over 400 attended Beyond Boundaries summit
|
The Bingham Fellows Class of 2008 was charged with identifying key regional leaders and stakeholders,
finding common ground within and among communities, establishing regional leadership collaborations and planning and executing the regional summit on Nov. 7 at the Galt House. In the end, they accomplished all that and much more, creating momentum for an ambitious, strategic effort to drive regional prosperity.
Partnering with Wired65, the Bingham Fellows gathered over 400 regional business and nonprofit leaders, elected officials and young professionals who represented 23 of the 26 counties along I-65 that are involved in the Wired65 grant.
Participants heard consultants Tom Stellman of TIP Strategies in Austin, Texas, and Rebecca Ryan of Next Generation Consulting in Madison, Wisconsin, who presented research findings from our 26-county region. Their presentations highlighted the specific strengths and challenges facing our region. These findings will be used to help shape a regional competitiveness strategy. View slides from these presentations.
Many thanks to the generous sponsors of the event.
To keep the conversation and connections going... Attend a regional response session to discuss the findings outlined by TIP Strategies' assessment of our economic and human capital positions AND the recommendations for actions for our region to remain competitive in the 21st century economy. Sessions will be held the week of Nov. 17. All are welcome.
