Dear Maria,
 We join the whole community in saluting Leadership Louisville Center board members Joe Pusateri of Elite Homes and Phil McHugh of Fifth Third Bank for their roles in the success of the Extreme Home Makeover project for the deserving Hughes family.
The Leadership Louisville Center itself has been a hub of activity with several program days plus a great networking event at the November 100 Wise Women breakfast forum. Be sure to check out several photo gallery links below.

| Leadership Louisville class gets inside look at region's business climate
After hearing from Dr. Paul Coomes, Professor of Economics at University of Louisville, and Joe Reagan, president and chief executive officer of Greater Louisville, Inc., the Leadership Louisville class visited a variety of local businesses from Medventure Technologies to the UPS Global Operations Center. They wrapped up their day with a tour of Carbide Industries, LLC.

| Leaders in the News
Alexandra S. Thurstone (LL '06), head of school for St. Francis High School, was honored at Youth Alive!'s 9th Anniversary Dinner as the recipient of their Great Minds Award for Community Leader-ship. The award recognizes Alexandra's role in providing Youth Alive! students with scholarships to attend St. Francis High School.
 In conjunction with their production of "Spunk", Actors Theatre has named two Leadership Louisville grads, Fran Berg (LL '96) (left) and Claudia Peralta-Mudd (LL '06) (lower left) to their list of 11 "Women of Spunk". These women were honored for overcoming hardships and making a difference in our community.
Angela McCorkle Buckler (LL '07) has been elected president of the Women Lawyers Association of Jefferson County.
 Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has named Michael Brown (LL '88, BF '93), secretary of the Justice & Public Safety Cabinet. Brown has served as law director for the city of Louisville and chairman of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority.
 Gov. Steve Beshear also named Brigadier Gen. Edward Tonini (LL '87) Adjutant General. Tonini previously served as director of the U.S. Air Force's Your Guardians of Freedom program.
Steve Eggers, (LL '95, BF '98 '03) is the new president of the American Institute of Architects statewide professional society of registered architects in Kentucky.

Leadership Louisville Center board members step up to ensure success of Extreme Home Makeover team
Leadership Louisville Center board vice chairman, Joe Pusateri (left), (LL '90, BF '93), president of Elite Homes, and his brother/ business partner, Rocky Pusateri (LL '06) (center), worked in partnership with the Extreme Home Makeover team in building the "extreme dream home" for Patrick Hughes and his family.
Leadership Louisville Center board chairman, Phil McHugh (right), (LL '98), president of Fifth Third Bank, led efforts to manage donations from the community which will help the Hughes family financially.

Ignite Louisville Class gets taste of YUM! Brands culture
 After leading the Ignite Louisville Class in the YUM! cheer, senior vice president and chief public affairs officer, Jonathan Blum outlined the tenets of the YUM! corporate culture, and shared his passion for YUM!'s company-wide movement to stop world hunger.
Jonathan challenged the Ignite Louisville class to take the leadership torch and not be satisfied with the status quo. His advice to Louisville: "believe in yourself, think big, get focused and look for diversity".

Date set for reunion of Focus Louisville 2007 classes
Focus Louisville class members have been vocal about the desire to continue their experience - so much so that the Leadership Louisville Center has set a date for a reunion of all 2007 Focus Louisville classes. Please save this date - Mar. 18, 2008. Look for details coming in February.
