| Leaders in the News
Tom O'Brien (IL '05 , LL '07), partner at Frost Brown Todd LLC, has been named to the Bellarmine Board of Overseers.
Curt Tofteland (FL '00, LN '01, LL '04) has been named a 2007 Petra Fellow. Tofteland, producing artistic director of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival and founder of Shakespeare Behind Bars at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in LaGrange, directs the oldest Shakespeare theatre company contained within the walls of a medium-security adult male prison.
Lukas Dwelly (FL '05, IL '06, BF '07) recently became the State Director for the March of Dimes Greater Kentucky Chapter.
Marita Willis (LL '99, BF '01, BF '07) has been named to a new advisory council of the Federal Reserve Bank of S. Louis. Willis is one of 13 executives who will serve on the new Community Development Advisory Council.
Scott Prince (FL '06, BF '07) was named head of Louisville Collegiate School. Scott was formerly assistant head of school.
J. Barry Barker, (LL '96, BF '98, LN '03) executive director of Transit Authority of River City, received the American Public Transportation Association's 2007 Outstanding Public Transportation Manager Award.
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P., announced that 12 of its lawyers were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, 2008 edition. Among those honored were Leadership Louisville Center grads, William Grubbs (LL '82), Richard Clay (LL '89, BF '96) and Donna King Perry (LL '05).

| October Program Day a learning experience for Leadership Louisville class
Dr. Sheldon Berman, Jefferson County's new school superintendent, shared insights regarding the successes and challenges facing JCPS. To see for themselves, The Leadership Louisville class boarded school buses and got a firsthand look at their choice of one of 4 JCPS schools.

Lynn Pendergrass was named the president and chief executive officer of GE Consumer & Industrial, Americas, in November of 2005. In this role, she has direct responsibility for all commercial related activities for appliances, lighting and industrial products throughout North America and Profit and Loss responsibilities including manufacturing and technology for all activities within the Americas, a $10.5 billion revenue business.

Opening retreat gets Ignite Louisville class off to great start
The Ignite Louisville Class of 2008 gathered at Wooded Glen Conference and Retreat Center near Henryville, IN, on Oct. 18-19. The retreat offers a respite from busy lives and provides a relaxed environment for forming new friendships and focusing on the exciting program year ahead.
