Joan Riehm Leadership Louisville Center participants are making news....

Joan Riehm (LL '80) has been elected chairman of the board of the Alliance for Regional Stewardship, a national organization that promotes the concept of regionalism and assists metropolitan areas nationwide with efforts to collaborate. Riehm retired from her position of deputy mayor for Louisville Metro on December 31.

Also in the news....

The Kentucky World Trade Center has elected Robert Brown (LL '07) as president. Brown is a member of the Louisville law office of Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC.

Richard H. C. Clay (BF '96, LL '89) , a partner at Woodward, Hobson & Fulton LLP has been elected chair of the Board of Governors of the J. B. Speed Art Museum.

John Miranda (LL '04, FL '03) was recently elected president of the Home Builders Association of Louisville. John is a partner in Pinnacle Properties of Louisville, LLC, a local commercial and residential development company.

Tom Williams (BF '04, LL '03) has been elected president of the Louisville Bar Association. Williams is a member of Stoll Keenon Ogden, PLLC.

Todd Spencer

Todd Spencer (LL '07, FL '03) has assumed the presidency of Doe Anderson.


Karla Teasley (BF '02, LL '99, FL '90) has accepted the position as President of Illinois American Water Company.

Richard S. Cleary (LL '91) has been named member-in-charge of Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald PLLC's Louisville office.

Phyllis E. Florman (BF '93, LL '91), arbitrator and mediator, has been admitted into the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Paula McCraney (BF '01, LL '99) has been appointed as a Chief Deputy, Executive Director of Human Resources and Community Affairs for the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk, Louisville Metro.

 


 One Hundred Wise Women will launch in Louisville
 

100 Wise Women

A new breakfast series designed to increase the base of Louisville’s qualified, connected women leaders will launch in February. Presenting sponsors are the Leadership Louisville Center, Today’s Woman magazine, Deloitte & Touche LLP and Women 4 Women.


Called One Hundred Wise Women, the program involves distinguished women leaders - Wise Women – hosting a table of several emerging women leaders to discuss themes related to career success and professional and personal goals.

Founding sponsorship is provided by BB&T and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Proceeds from this series of events will be used for Leadership Louisville Center scholarships for women.

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, registration for the February 7 launch event is now closed. Registrations are being accepted for placement on a waiting list for the February event and for future events in this series.

Schneider Companies, Donna King Perry (LL '05) - Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, LLP, Sue Stout Tamme (LL '98) - Baptist Hospital East, Phoebe Wood (LL '05) - Brown-Forman Corporation, and Christine Johnson (LL '87), President of the Leadership Louisville Center.

 


 Leadership Louisville Center is a national leadership resource
 

LLC building The Leadership Louisville Center was recently asked to serve as a resource by McKinsey & Company - consultants working to help improve the program offerings of Leadership Greater Chicago.



Later this week, the Leadership Louisville Center will host representatives from Leadership Anne Arundel - the leadership development organization for the Greater Annapolis area in Maryland.
