 Connecting Louisville's leaders....

Youth Alive! Mark Stevens (LL '07) is the owner of Stevens & Stevens Delicatessen on Bardstown Road in the Highlands. Kenny Boyd (LL '04, LN '05) is the founder of Youth Alive! – a community program for at-risk children in economically disadvantaged areas.

When Boyd talked about serving an average of 30+ children a hot meal every day using a microwave and a hotplate, Stevens wanted to see for himself how they did it.

After visiting the Youth Alive! facilities, Stevens contacted Lindsey Miller (LL '94) and Megan Robison (Ignite '05) at GE and asked them to donate kitchen appliances for the program. He then arranged for a friend in the construction business to help equip the kitchen to accommodate the new appliances.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, a new GE refrigerator, stove, microwave, deep chest freezer, and dishwasher were delivered to Youth Alive! at 1351 Catalpa Street.

This is one great example of ways the Leadership Louisville Center helps leaders "get connected". If you have a "get connected" story, please share it with us.
