Ignite Louisville: Make Your Mark Challenge 2009!
Ignite Louisville is the Leadership Louisville Center’s leadership development program for young professionals. The “Make Your Mark Challenge” is an annual opportunity for program participants to undertake a significant development or improvement project for a local nonprofit. Maker's Mark, because of its commitment to future leaders of Louisville, is providing support to this project.
Nonprofits are invited to submit project proposals for consideration by the Ignite Louisville teams. The deadline for submitting proposals for the Class of 2009 was July 10, 2008. The next opportunity will be in the summer of 2009. Watch this Web site for details or contact The Leadership Louisville Center at (502) 561-0458 if you would like to be placed on our email list.
About the Make Your Mark Challenge
Since 2004, teams of Ignite Louisville class participants have worked to make their mark on Louisville area nonprofits by participating in the Make Your Mark Challenge. The competition, a key component of the Ignite Louisville program, challenges class participants to put their newly honed leadership skills to practice.
During their program experience, class participants work together in small groups to identify community issues about which they are passionate. The teams partner with a nonprofit agency to combine the principles learned in Ignite Louisville with each participant's professional experiences and expertise to create and implement solutions for making the community a better place.
The Class of 2008 has made their own mark
This year's groups partnered with 7 local nonprofit organizations:
