How to Apply for Ignite Louisville
When to apply
Applications for the Ignite Louisville Class of 2012 (beginning in October 2011) now open. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 29 at midnight.
Important tips for preparing your application
The Ignite Louisville Application consists of several components. Applications are not considered complete until we receive the following items:

Two recommendations. Please instruct those submitting recommendations on your behalf to use our Online Recommendation Form. References may also submit written letters of recommendation addressed to:

A completed Online Application. Once your application is begun online, it must be completed in one session. The application process automatically times out after 60 minutes. Only online applications will be accepted. If you encounter any problem with the online application, please contact us at (502) 561-0458 or email if after business hours.

Employment history (employer names, position titles and dates of employment for your last three employers)

Education background (institution names, degrees earned and dates of enrollment for up to three schools)

Community service participation (organization names, roles and dates of involvement for up to three organizations)

Names of persons who will submit your recommendations (names, titles and company names)
Essay questions: Prepare your answers to the five essay questions in advance. You may compose your responses in Word or another word processor and copy and paste your responses into the online application.

What is the most important aspect of your work responsibilities, and how will this program improve your performance?

Describe the leadership skill you need to improve most.

What one leader, living or deceased, do you most admire? Why?

Describe why you feel community service is an important aspect of your life.

Participation in the Ignite Louisville program requires a commitment from you to attend the mandatory overnight retreat in October and each of the monthly sessions in their entirety. In addition, you will participate in small group projects (the Yum! IGNITES Louisville Challenge) to put your leadership learnings into practice. This level of commitment will require support from your employer, family and other obligations. The program is only successful when participants are committed to its completion. A completed Supervisor Commitment Form. Download the form (MS Word document) here, complete and email to Sara Baumgarten Ulliman.
A photograph suitable for print and online use. Please crop photos to a headshot. For print use, the image must be 200-300 ppi. Photos may be uploaded through the online application. The image you upload MUST be a JPEG file. The maximum uploadable file size is 200K. If you do not upload your photo with your application, please email it to Sara Baumgarten Ulliman.
No other documents will be considered.
Tuition
Tuition for this program is $3,800. Includes overnight retreat lodging, meals and materials. Limited scholarships are available based on need.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available based on need. The scholarship application is part of the Online Application. Be prepared to state the amount of scholarship requested and the reason you need a scholarship. Please note that the Leadership Louisville Center awards a maximum scholarship of 50% of the program tuition.
Scholarship requests are considered only after the class selection process is complete and will in no way impact consideration of your Ignite Louisville application.
Notice of selection
Applicants will be notified of the selection decisions in August.
