Laura Douglas (BF '93, LL '92) is vice president, Corporate Responsibilty and Community Affairs at E.ON U.S. She joined E.ON in October 2003 as Director of Communications. Laura gave interesting advice to the sold-out gathering at the June 100 Wise Women breakfast - essentially she said, "Don't be too careful!" She talked about strategic risks she's taken in her career that paid big dividends personally and professionally.

Laura's bio
Douglas's professional background includes service as general counsel for a water district and sewer works, which operated the largest industrial pre-treatment program in southeastern United States. She also served for four years as the Secretary of Kentucky's Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet. This Cabinet regulated the state’s mining, banking, insurance, electricity, telephone, and water industries.
Douglas earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville's Brandeis School of Law. In 2004, she was designated a law school Alumni Fellow. She is a member of the board of directors of Republic Bank and Trust Company and Actors Theatre. Douglas has served as Chair of the Citizens Commission on Police Accountability since its inception. She was also chair of the Leadership Louisville Center's board. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Kentucky State University Board.
