The Leadership Louisville Center is a nonprofit, member-oriented resource dedicated to developing a diverse group of leaders who serve as catalysts for a stronger community.
History
It all started back in 1979 when community leaders Wilson Wyatt, Barry Bingham, Nana Lampton, Maurice D.S. Johnson and David Jones, Sr. founded Leadership Louisville to ensure that Louisville’s future leaders would be knowledgeable about issues, well networked, and passionate about the success of the community.
Initially, Leadership Louisville was organized under the auspices of the Louisville Area Chamber of Commerce. As its services grew, the Leadership Louisville Foundation became an independent organization with a mission of developing a diverse group of leaders to serve as catalysts for a stronger community.
The Center today…
Today that mission is being carried out through a broad spectrum of programs and events specifically designed to inspire and challenge people at all levels of leadership development. In broadening its scope and capabilities, the new Leadership Louisville Center, now located on booming West Main Street, is able to offer exceptional skills development and unparalleled exposure to the people, places and ideas that make our community a great place to live and work.
Program graduates now have the opportunity to become members of a living, breathing organization that extends and deepens their experience, enhances their network and keeps them connected to community issues through a wide variety of professional and social opportunities.
As the leadership needs of the Louisville area continue to evolve, Leadership Louisville Center will remain a constant resource for growing the next crop of community leaders.
