2012 Leadership Louisville Luncheon to feature Mayor Kevin Johnson of Sacramento – Mayor Fischer’s 25-year plan for improved Quality of Place to be the focus

Mayor Kevin JohnsonLouisville, Kentucky (June 22, 2012) – In partnership with the Office of the Mayor, the Leadership Louisville Center is announcing the date and theme for the 2012 Leadership Louisville Luncheon to be held on August 30, featuring the Honorable Kevin Johnson, Mayor of Sacramento.  The annual event will include a robust discussion on Mayor Fischer’s 25-year plan, a unified vision for improving Louisville and developing a blueprint for how the city should look and feel in 2037.  

As keynote speaker, Mayor Johnson will share how his efforts towards building a more vibrant community, one that ‘Works for Everyone,’ can inspire this community to reach higher and dream larger.  ‘Quality of Place starts with Quality Leaders’ will be the overarching theme and the audience will include hundreds of leaders in business, government, nonprofits and civic engagement from Louisville, Southern Indiana and throughout Kentucky. 

The 2012 Leadership Louisville Luncheon will be held at the Galt House East.

About Mayor Kevin Johnson

Mayor Kevin Johnson is the 55th mayor of Sacramento and the first African American to be elected to the office.  He brings tireless enthusiasm for his city, along with a background in revitalizing a community through public education, economic development, civic leadership and the arts.  Upon retiring from the NBA after 12 seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Mayor Johnson has dedicated himself to public service and is a rising national leader.  His ambitious action plan for Sacramento has seen considerable impact in setting new standards for community engagement and accountability in the areas of public safety, excellence in public education, economic development and increased volunteerism.  As Louisville embarks on the creation of our own vision for the future, the Leadership Louisville Luncheon will bring together leaders of our community who are poised to apply these ideas towards building a stronger region.
